Today I....

experimented with more eyeliner

I think I like it better than black eyeliner just on the top lid like I usually do.
I also wore this. I just got the heart hand bag from Bodyline today! I really like it!

Sorry for all the stuff in the way. That bathroom had the best lighting and it' kind of a storage room atm. I also apologize for my terrible hair. My roots have grown out ALOT but I'm on the fence about whether I should bleach them or dye my hair back to it's natural color.
I also got these shoes from Bodyline in the mail today. Everything shipped in a week and the shipping was free! I know they are AP BTSSB replicas (I can't afford real ones and can't find any either T_T). I also know like everyone has these too but I love em!

My sweets deco compact finally totally dried. It unfortunately shrank! Next time I'll make sure to use Decotti and not Whipple again! My bf just bought two new tubes of it too!

Sorry everything is so blurry. I got superglue on my phone's camera lens when I was decoing it. >.<

Ahh you look really cute! <3 Psst psst, the shoes are Baby the Star Shine Bright "Heart Buckle" replica. I bought the BODY LINE shoes in every colour. I really love the enamel pink, if you ever get those...they're REALLY bright pink so it's so cute!

Omygosh! Thank you for all the amazing compliments! I do prefer blond hair but my hair is so fried that I'm tempted to dye it back and let my natural hair grow out, then cut off the damage.
I love decoden too! ^.^ I'm just a beginner to! Thank you so much for the compliment, though!

p.s.
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Pink! I usually don't wear that much pink, though. lol. My hair used to be fuschia, then a slightly pastel pink but it faded. T_T

Oh you so should post pics on popkei! You're seriously adorable! And congrats on losing 30 lbs! I'd like to lose that much - not so much for aesthetics but because my family has a strong gene for type 2 diabetes. Any advice you could give me?

I'm really shy and nervous about posting my photos online, so I understand, but I think you're really lovely! ♥

Thank you so much! It's just hard because all of the girls on there are like size 0 or 2! Type 2 diabetes runs in my family too. My father recently died from it and he really watched his sugar. I don't know what it is but it's really bad in my family, no matter what we eat.
My grandma also got it when she was young (in her 30's). She was still living in Japan when she got it and at the time there weren't any American fast food restaurants there and the Japanese diet was still predominately Japanese.
My dad also grew up on a predominately Japanese diet until he was in high school. Maybe it's that their bodies were not used to all the sugar in American food.
I try really hard to watch my sugar. I don't know if dieting will help. I'm really only doing it so I can fit into the brands I like, as vain as that is. I'm on a calorie cycling diet. I have a medium day (800-1000 cal), low day (500-700 cal), and then a high day (1000-1500 cal). I also eat what I want two days a month.
I don't know how healthy it is. Likely not too healthy. You are not supposed to lose more than 2lbs. a week when dieting and on the weeks that I really stick to it, I lose 3-4lbs. a week. The reason you lose it so fast is that your body doesn't go into "starvation mode" and plateau because the changes in calorie intake confuses your metabolism.
In reality, there is no healthy diet, and calorie counting can easily get out of hand. I'm just really desperate to lose weight and I don't know how to do it any other way. I used to have an eating disorder, but I have taught myself enough about nutrition that I don't think I will fall into the same trap again. I now know how dangerous it is to starve yourself.

I'm so sorry about your father. I send much love and hugs. ♥ ♥ ♥

Are you half Japanese? I'm 1/8 Japanese - from my great-grandma. I'm half Chamorro, from the Northern Mariana Island of Rota (Micronesia), via my mom. That's the side of the family that's heavily prone to Type 2. I agree that there's likely a connection between the previously healthier diets and the sugar shock that comes with switching to US foods, which may lead to the disease. I'm totally at a loss as to how to watch my eating, and my doctor doesn't help at all. I know there's no healthy diet, but I don't want to end up diabetic, which in my family seems to be weight-related, so I'll look into your calorie cycling diet. Maybe if I do it here and there, taking it slow, it'll be less harmful? I'm pretty desperate, since I'm still young and haven't had any kids yet, so I know I'll be putting on more in the future due to slowing metabolism and mothering. I'm not big yet, but I see it coming in the future if I don't figure out how to control it now.

Thank you very much.
I think it's great to meet other interracial people! I don't know many other people of Japanese mixed ethnicity. I am half Japanese or hapanese. lol. I'm also German, French, and British. I identify most as hapa, though. It's a Hawaiian term for "half breed" but is mostly used to describe someone who is half Asian now days.
I'm also quite scared of getting type 2 diabetes. My advice would be, use sugar substitute when available, cut down on sweets, avoid high fructose corn syrup (when possible), and avoid potato starch.
Another kinda healthy diet could be the 1,000 to 1,500 cal a day diet. If you are not very active you can go with 1,000. This is hard for me, though. It worked for my brother and his wife, however. They've kept it off for 7 years. Once you lost what you wanted, you add 100 calories a day until you reach 2,000.
what helps me is filling up a liter bottle of water and bringing it everywhere with me. You need about two liters a day (I think). Sometimes when you think you are hungry you are really thirsty. I add a crystal light packet because I drink it faster when it tastes good.lol.
If I'm still hungry but am saving up my calories for later in the day, I have a 30cal instant miso soup (without bonito for me) or a small glass of V8 (also 30cal).
Also, if you diet, make sure to take your vitamins. If you are not overweight, you really shouldn't diet, though. I'd suggest just focusing on eating for nutrition. So, just eating healthier, but not less. If you maintain a healthy diet and work out before, through, and after your pregnancy, you won't gain much. If you still do, it's likely genetics and there's not much you can do about it.
If you grew up in the US you might be more adapted to the diet than previous generation in or out of America. It depends on the individual too. You may always be thin. My oldest brother has always been thin.

Cool! I'm really happy every time I find someone of mixed decent too! I'm waiting for the day when we'll all be completely mixed and everyone realizes that we're all kin....sorry, that's my hippie mentality speaking (can I add that we'll hold hands and sing songs?)! ;D lol Btw, my other side is Greek - I think I forgot to mention.
I'd use the term hapa more, but some people don't know it, or think it's a derogatory term - personally, I think it's cute. :3 One of my favorite aunts (I have 7!) who has been living in Hawaii forever uses the term a lot - after all, her kids are hapa too!
Thanks so much for your dieting recommendations! I'm going to have to try one of those diets, since I'm a good 20-30 lbs overweight right now. Sugar's going to be the hardest thing to kick, especially since my mom had some blood sugar problems when she was pregnant with me, making her unable to eat anything without maple syrup on it (even rice!) - so I'm practically made of sugar!
I noticed that when I drink more water, I do seem to eat less, so I'm definitely going to try that trick. Wish me luck!

Personally, I'm not the religious type...I just love pastels, chocolate, bunnies, and coloring eggs! ;D

Thank you! Happy Easter to you too! I'm not religious but I celebrate the commercialized Easter. I love pastels, bunnies, and candy! I didn't celebrate it much growing up, though. My mom was a Jehovah's Witness. However, my dad was Buddhist so he didn't mind at least celebrating the Easter that involves Easter baskets with candy! lol.

In my book, Easter is Bunny Day. lol
My mom's Catholic, so we had to dress up in scratchy dresses and go to church when I was little, but I always only cared about the bunnies and egg hunts that resulted in a sugar high. ;D Now that I'm an adult, I'm very much not religious, but if I had to choose one, I'd definitely go with Buddhism, since all of my Buddhist friends are so nice and non-judgmental when it comes to celebrating holidays. There's a "live and let live" mentality in Buddhist practice that I really love. ♥

Sorry I haven't replied in so long. I'e been a little depressed.
Ester is bunny day to me too! It sure is fun.
My dad was kind of Buddhist. For him it was more of a cultural thing than a religion. His parents were religious but most of his generation and ours are not as religious as previously. I'm not religious, either but I agree that Buddhism is a pretty peaceful religion that teaches good lessons.

On a brighter note, do you like Maru the cat? I recently bought his movie (yes, he has a movie). It's great! Brightens my day!<3

I'm so happy you're feeling better! Depression is such a drag.
Maru the cat?? :::googled:::
Zomg, he's soooo cute! I didn't even know about such a cute celebrity cat! How could that have slipped by me?! Thanks so much for mentioning him, since now I'm an instant fan! It really does cheer me up - I was laughing out loud at the captions and how adorable he is in the photos of his blog! There's a MOVIE?!? Where did you get it? I seriously love this little ham of a cat! ♥

lol! I'm so happy you are a Maru fan now. I got the movie at Uwagimaya in Seattle. There is a little Japanese bookstore attatched that sells Japanese language books, DVDs, magazines (I go there for Kera, FRUiTS, and Deco and Deco), and stationary.

Anyway, I found that they were selling a Maru book and DVD there. The DVD is called "I am Maru". It's pricey but really worth it! the one I bought was region free, so I can play it in an American DVD player. I don't know if they all are so you might want to check first if you don't have a region 3 (I think that's the Asian one) DVD player.

Seriously, the other day, I think I spent two hours straight on his blog! XD
I wish I still lived on a coast...where I live now there's barely anything Asian at all! We have one small Japanese grocery store in the whole city! But, sometimes they have random cute things, so it's worth a shot to see if they carry the DVD or book. Otherwise I'll have to see if my mom knows any Japanese stores in San Diego when I go visit her this summer. Or, if I'm lucky enough to visit during Comic-Con, maybe someone will be selling it there? Thanks for the warning - I keep forgetting the stupid region thing which seems to exist only to annoy people with an international mindset!
Now...back to Maru stalking... XD

Lol! I'm so happy you are such a big fan! I see that you can buy the DVD on Amazon. It's also named "Maru Desu" if it's any help. Here's another website selling it for less than what I bought it for.

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=COBM-5679

I'm so sorry there are not any Asian stores near by. When I lived in Kansas, it was that way. It was such a bummer. However, we would drive 20 miles monthly to get to the nearest one. They strictly only sold food, however. Their selection was just the basics too. It was so small... Kansas does not have a single decent Asian market or grocery store. I have been to nearly all of them. Disappointment!

I grew up in So Cal next to a slew of Marukais and Mitsuwas. I didn't know how good I had it until I moved to Kansas. They only have one Asian culture-related con there and it averages about 100 people. However, I have been to a really good sushi restaurant in Lawrence named "Wa". It was amazing! I miss Lawrence. It's seriously one of the most liberal towns I have ever seen. It's like this oasis in the middle of a super conservative state. The best part is that everyone is really friendly and not the least bit pretentious like San Fransisco and the such. Everyone has dreadlocks in Lawrence too. lol. Anyway, I digress.

Good to hear from you again!

Thanks so much for the link! It's region 2, but I just might have access to a region-free dvd player! Now, I just need to save for the dvd, since I just blew my spending money on She-ra stuff on evilBay! (I couldn't help myself! I've been obsessed with She-ra since I was 3 or 4 years old...when I told people repeatedly that I wanted to be She-ra when I grew up!) XD
You know what? The reason I don't have access to much anything Asian is that I currently live in a neighboring state to Kansas - Colorado! lol! I almost had to live in Kansas, in an absolutely horrible hell-on-earth place called, quite pretentiously, "Manhattan". It's full of gun-toting, bison-shooting hillbillies. Thank heavens I dodged that bullet! I've heard of Lawrence, though - that it's some strange and surreal upwelling of liberalism in the desert of crazy religious conservatives. It sounds a lot like Iowa City, which I visited once and was shocked to find a really tiny haven for hippies, liberals, and other like-minded, kind-hearted, bunny lovers. Yes - bunny lovers. There were bunnies there that actually seemed tame! Like you could just walk over and pet them! How wild animals react is always a sign of how nice people are in the area, and those bunnies were so cool and calm, I knew people had to be so kind there! I wonder if Lawrence has tame bunnies? Or maybe squirrels or pigeons? :D
You're so right about a lot of SF people acting pretentious. When I lived there, on the one hand, it was great that most people were liberal, but on the other hand, a lot of people were on the snooty side. Things like looking down on folks that occasionally use Target or Walmart - that kind of annoying judgment.
Oh, and dreadlocks are awesome! ♥ Alas, all I can do with my hair is braid, since it's so thin and weak. It took forever (more than 10 years!), but I have the next best thing to looking like a hippie - hair that reaches past my butt! lol!
Anyway, back to the kitties. Do you know of any other cat blogs like Maru's? I love sites like cuteoverload.com and icanhascheezburger.com, but Maru's is the first I've seen of that type.

Thanks again for the link! ♥
