SHOPPING SPREE!!!...kinda

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

So my bf and I went out to downtown Seattle a few days ago and had some fun. We walked almost literally from one end of Seattle to the other. My legs still hurt! >.< First, we checked out all of his favorite little spots.

We started off at Deli because it's closest to where the ferry. It's a clothing store/boutique inside of an old deli. The interior is still set up like a Deli and the T-shirts are packaged like deli meats. Sadly we came too early. I took some pics but theey didn't turn out so well. here's a better one to start with. We then went to Gems. It's a sneaker shop within an old fashion-style candy shop. Now here's where cool become awesome; when you walk in it just looks like a little red candy shop with a counter and display case with candy. We walked in and asked the rather handsome and stylish man behind the counter if he could please show us to the sneakers. He took a few steps left and opened the wall behind him. HE OPENED THE FUCKING WALL!
You can't see hinges or a seam or anything! Inside was a black room with illuminated ledges where the sneakers were and a dj booth. The room doubles as an art exhibit. Sadly, they didn't sell my boyfriend's shoe size (U.S. men's 15). Sorry, I didn't take pics! I'm pretty sure it's not allowed!

After recovering from the awesome we went to Jack Straw Filaments. Talk about stylish! The shop was very small and had only a few select items. Everything had a very Americana dandy feel. It was at the pinnacle of contemporary American street fashion. The gentleman shop owner was older and extremely stylish. He could have walked straight off of the Sartorialist and if not, the runway.
Sadly, everything was way out of our price range. I felt broke just breathing there. We walked away empty handed once again with nothing for my boyfriend but a broken heart because the knitted sweater he wanted was over $2,000. I didn't take pictures. Picture provided not my own. It's a little old and outdated. It looked different when I was there. Sorry.

We then walked a short distance to Tuuli. It's a cute little Finnish import store. They seriously had the most adorable felted fox and owl cell phone holders! Other than that it was just alright. Not breathtaking in any way. We decided not to buy anything.      I didn't take pics. Picture provided not my own.

Next up was Butch Blum. I felt positively under dressed as soon as I opened the door. Butch Blum's specialty is designer European clothing, though they do have a few items from elsewhere. It was very, VERY GQ. My boyfriend cried a little inside as he looked at the prices on the clothing that actually had price tags.
The clothes were pretty amazing. I remember seeing mostly Armani. From what I remember all of their suits are Armani. I also saw some Yohji Yamamoto in the men's casual wear (read: not casual for most folks). We took a quick run through the upstairs women's section and I wondered how much weight I'd have to lose to fit into the two sizes they offered. European sizes 40 and 42. Btw- I don't know my European size. Needless to say, we bought nothing.
I couldn't find any pics online of the store but the blogger for the Seattle street fashion blog 21arrondissement.com (the best Seattle street fashion blog in my opinion) likes to take photos of stylish people in front of Butch Blum.

After torturing my boyfriend for a couple hours I decided on lunch. We went to the Pioneer Square Park Mall? (I don't know if that is the actual name or location of the mall. I'm totally guessing). Ahh...The Mall! My kind of place! Who was I fooling? I'm not some upper class trust fund hipster! In fact, I'm technically not even middle class but I get to that later. After my bf and I enjoyed some delicious noodles we went somewhere a bit more in our price range...

                                                                                          DAISO!!!!!
The colorful trinkets at dollar store prices, the blasting J-pop over the speakers, the many little packets of stickers, the obento accessories, the odd fake adult daiper in a package with drawings of drunk men dressed as babies, the hair accessories, HAIR ACCESSORIES, HAIR ACCESSORIES!!!!!
Best of all, my splurge only put me back about $25!
Pictures!

My haul. Also, YAAAAAAAAY! Moko Moko scrunchies! Finally!  I'm going to make bows with the origami papers. I'll figure out what to do with the stickers later. I was looking of Katakana stickers so I could put my name on my DS but I guess I was dreaming. Got Hirigana stickers instead (more my level anyway T_T).

You can check out close ups of the rest on my poupee girl!

I then ran over to Claire's and bought these lovelies.

Super fluffy sparkly scarves and a knitted sparkly bow headband!

as with the Daiso haul, you can see close ups on my poupee girl.

Shopping Spree!!! Part2(the shitty part) coming soon!

Sorry. I understand. They are way overpriced. I'll buy some next time I go to Daiso just in case you don't have some by then.
